Ohio high school football coaches association goes before OHSAA on playoff expansion next month

The Ohio high school football coaches association will make a presentation before the OHSAA Board of Directors next month of expanding the playoffs to 16 teams per region starting this fall.
The presentation is scheduled for June 8 at 11:00 am.
The OHSFCA has stated they are not in favor of the expansion and will present several "facts" to the board on why adding teams to the playoffs is not a good idea.
According to the coaches association:
-For the years 2017, 2018, 2019 teams that finished 13 thru 16 in their regions only 23% had a winning record.
-In 2019, 21 of the 94 games played would have been rematches.
-In 2018 , 14 of the 94 games played would have been rematches.
-In 2017, 15 of the 94 games played would have been rematches.
-In 2019, in 33% of the games the lower seed did not score
The average point differential was 27 points.
-In 2018, in 28% of the games the lower seed did not score
The average point differential was 30 points
in 2017, in 13% of the games the lower seed did not score
The average point differential was 25 points.
The coaches association said they were not consulted by the OHSAA to expand the playoffs and the reason was "financially motivated."
