Two jailed after police chase ends with crash into cruiser in Hubbard

Two 21-year-old men are in the Trumbull County Jail following a police chase that started in Brookfield ended after a suspect collided with a police cruiser, sending an officer to the hospital.
The chase began Monday evening around 8:14 p.m. near Route 62 and Bedford Road.
According to initial reports, the vehicle took off and went into Hubbard near Flying J.
Dispatchers say the suspect rammed a police cruiser near Truck World and Shell before taking off on foot.
Three suspects were in the car and were eventually detained with one of them being detained at gunpoint.
Reports say the police cruiser is totaled.
All three people in the car were taken to the hospital along with the police officer.
Antwan Tarver faces charges of resisting arrest, drug possession, and complicity. Charles Pickard was booked on charges of failure to control a vehicle, trafficking, drug possession, failure to comply with a police order, and failure to reinstate a driver’s license.
The third person was listed as a passenger in the vehicle.
The two suspects will be arraigned in Trumbull County Eastern District court.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is handling the crash and Brookfield Police are handling the chase.
