ACTION celebrates 20 years of service, advocacy in Valley

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -
ACTION celebrated 20 years of service and advocacy in the Mahoning Valley Tuesday night.
The organization held its annual banquet at the Byzantine Center at the Grove in Youngstown.
The guest speaker was Reverend Bishop David Bonnar of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown.
ACTION's mission is striving to develop a community of diverse leaders to raise awareness and find solutions to overcome poverty, racism, and social injustice.
"For 20 years we've looked at the needs of the community and have tried to address ills in the community. We still want to deal with racism, social justice, and housing," said Dr. James Baber, ACTION President.
Baber says they're also looking forward to putting together a mobile market where they can take produce to people who may not have access to fresh food.
