Details on money set for Mahoning Valley in Ohio budget

Ohio's latest budget that Gov. Mike DeWine is set to sign includes millions of dollars for the Mahoning Valley.
State Sen. Michael Rulli (R-Salem) released a statement ahead of the governor's signature about the money coming to local projects in the 2022-2023 budget.
Below is a list of projects getting money.
- Secure $3.5 million for Eastern Gateway Community College to create new workforce initiatives
- Appropriate $1 million for the Mahoning Valley Campus of Care
- Allocate $150,000 for the Lisbon Village Fire Department
- Appropriate $200,000 in FY 2022 for Youngstown State University's Mahoning Valley Workforce Partnership
- Allocate $425,000 each fiscal year to support at-risk youth at Mahoning County High School
- Provide $150,000 in FY 2022 for the City of East Liverpool to acquire, demolish or rehabilitate abandoned houses and conduct property cleanup activities
- Securing $350 million to identify and address clean-up for abandoned industrial properties across the state
"I am pleased the additional effort I made to secure these hometown projects brought results that weren't even part of the discussion in the House," Rulli said in a prepared statement. "If you don't ask, you won't get it. I asked, worked with President Huffman, and now, these vital projects are part of the budget. I will always be an enthusiastic and loud advocate for our district."
