Youngstown State University's annual Summer Festival of the Arts will return to the area in mid-July.

It will be held July 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and July 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The festival was canceled in 2020 due to coronavirus concerns.

The Summer Festival of the Arts started back in 1999 and attracts more than 80 artists and more than 10,000 visitors each year.

YSU previously held the event on its campus but is now moving it a few blocks away to the Wean Foundation Park that neighbors the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre.

Artists hoping to be featured at the festival have to apply and have their work evaluated before being accepted. An application for the festival can be found here.

Admission to the festival is free.
