Campbell man chokes after swallowing bag of weed during traffic stop

A Campbell man's traffic stop could have turned into a more dangerous situation.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol released a video on their Facebook page of the traffic stop involving 24-year-old Stephan Elash of Campbell.
The traffic stop happened on Interstate 76 on July 3rd around 8:18 p.m. in Rootstown Township.
State Troopers say the initial traffic stop was due to speeding after clocking him at 94 miles per hour in a 70.
After approaching the car, Trooper Hoskin of the Ravenna Post noticed that Elash was choking.
Trooper Hoskin performed the Heimlich maneuver on Elash, who eventually spit out a bag containing approximately five grams of suspected marijuana.
A Rootstown Township fire crew was called out to evaluate Elash following the incident.
Elash is facing charges of possession of marijuana, speeding and a seatbelt violation.
His first court date is set for July 21st in Ravenna Portage Municipal Court.
