Pennsylvania - Pennsylvania students have the option to repeat the 2020-21 school year under Pennsylvania's new Act 66 that Governor Tom Wolf signed on June 30th.

A press release says the Act was created "in an effort to make up for any lost educational opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic." Parents are able to make this choice even if their student met all the requirements to move onto the next grade.

The Act says that in order to qualify to repeat a grade level, students must have been enrolled into one of the following during the 2020-21 school year: a school district, intermediate unit, career and technical center, charter school, cyber charter school, regional charter school, or nonpublic school.

Students with disabilities who turned 21 during the 2020-21 school year, or in the summer before the 2021-22 school year may also repeat the 2020-21 school year and receive services based on their most recent Individualized Education Plan.

Parents can click here to complete the forms to re-enroll their child in their previous grade level. Thursday, July 15th is the last day to do so. Students over the age of 18 must fill out their own form.
