Columbiana County Health District: data tracker glitch misread infection rate

Mahoning Valley - An update from the Columbiana County Health District says that the previously reported "high transmission rate" in the county was the result of a glitch in the CDC's COVID-19 data tracker.
Columbiana County previously showed red as a result of the glitch, meaning there was a high level of transmission in the county. An updated map shows yellow.
Trumbull and Mahoning counties were previously orange, but now show yellow as well.
Laura Fauss, Division Coordinator for the Columbiana County Health District told 21 News that she believes the county's averaged 5 cases a day from July 19th to the 26th.
The glitch incorrectly showed 66 cases in the county on the 19th, but has since been corrected.
Coronavirus cases are still on the rise across the nation and locally in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
A majority of the counties in Ohio and Pennsylvania are yellow, which means there is a moderate level of community transmission from the dates of July 19-25.
Mercer County is on the yellow level while Lawrence County is orange.
Ohio added 1,317 new coronavirus cases Tuesday.
