The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a 35-year-old Girard man has died following a serious accident involving a motorcycle last Thursday afternoon in Vienna Township.

Dennis Riggleman died Monday at Mercy Hospital where he was taken following the crash on State Route 11 over the Route 82 overpass.

The area on Route 11 is currently undergoing construction and has its right lane closed off with barrels due to newly laid asphalt.

The motorcycle drove over the edge of the new asphalt, losing control and overturning.

Riggleman was ejected from the bike and struck the guardrail post.
