Cuyahoga asst. prosecutor in Mahoning Co. jail, accused of attempting to solicit sex from child

An assistant prosecutor in Cuyahoga County was arrested Friday after allegedly trying to solicit sex from an agent posing as a child.
32-year-old Joseph Bell of Warren was arrested in Cuyahoga County Friday and was transferred to the Mahoning County Jail.
Bell had been working for the past year and a half with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office within their Child Support Enforcement Unit.
A statement from the prosecutor's office says Bell was terminated from his job within the department.
Bell is facing a charge of importuning and is being held in the Mahoning County Jail.
Under Ohio law, importuning is the solicitation of someone for sex acts.
Below is a statement from the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office regarding the situation.
This employee was an attorney within our Child Support Enforcement Unit for approximately a year and a half. He was arrested today and subsequently terminated. We have no tolerance for this type of behavior. We have been working closely for the past week with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office regarding this incident. He will be held accountable just like every other disturbed individual who engages in this type of criminal activity. This matter remains under investigation by the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department.
