Tim Ryan calls for Olympic Committee to bar China from hosting 2022 Winter Olympics

WASHINGTON - Congressman Tim Ryan announced a bipartisan letter to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) requesting to bar China from hosting the 2022 Winter Olympic Games unless they fully cooperate with the investigation by the World Health Organization (WHO) into the origins of COVID-19.
Ryan announced the letter during a Zoom meeting Thursday.
Congressman Ryan (D-OH) and Steven Palazzo (R-MS) penned the letter to the IOC. They claim that China has rejected WHO's request to probe any areas of interest to the investigation.
The Congressmen called China's refusal to work with WHO is irresponsible and unacceptable.
The investigation aims to study further areas including Wuhan animal markets, audits of laboratories and research institutions operating in the area of the initial human cases identified in December 2019.
Its unclear where the Olympics would be moved to if the IOC decided to bar China from hosting the event.
