Medical marijuana dispensary resolution passes unanimously in Struthers

The Struthers City Council voted Wednesday evening to pass a resolution for companies to apply to create a medicinal marijuana dispensary in the area.
Wednesday night's meeting was a follow up to a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 1 discussing the possibility of two new dispensaries for the area.
According to Struthers Mayor, Catherine Cercone Miller, now that the resolution has passed, Council will provide resolutions to any company who wants to apply for a license.
Part of the application process in applying to open a medicinal marijuana dispensary is to get a letter from City Council. Once the application process is complete, the company will go through a lottery system. The city has no control over which companies are picked from this system.
If either Struthers company is able to get picked from the system, the businesses will be located in Downtown Struthers to increase foot traffic, as well as create new jobs downtown.
