HUBBARD TWP., Ohio - The battle over a proposed landfill in Trumbull County is not over yet as the company has filed a notice of appeal with the county.

TransRail America filed a notice of appeal with the Trumbull County Board of Health Monday night in hopes of building a landfill in Hubbard.

The appeal comes after the Board of Health unanimously voted to deny their application to build the landfill at a meeting on August 9.

Nearly 300 Hubbard Township residents voiced their concerns in the weeks leading up to the August meeting citing concerns over the health and welfare of the community.

TransRail America's application was to build a landfill off Drumond Avenue and Mount Everett Road.

The company has tried to establish a landfill in that area since the early 2000s and it seems their efforts will continue for at least the near future.
