Youngstown church vandalism suspect ruled competent to stand trial
Judge Renee DiSalvo had ordered a mental health evaluation of Vancampen and he subsequently was treated at Heartland Behavioral Facility for a number of months.

An East Palestine man caught on surveillance camera smashing several church statues has been ruled competent to stand trial.
Twenty-year-old Caleb Vancampen is facing felony charges after allegedly destroying 16 sacred statues outside of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown back in February.
Church officials said the damage to the statues was valued at about $100,000. Two granite statues and a light pole globe were also damaged.
Some of the statues appeared to have been struck by bricks and others were decapitated.

Vancampen's next court date has not yet been set.
