BOARDMAN, Ohio - Reports of stolen vehicles lead to a police chase and charges against two people Thursday.
According to a police report, the Boardman Police Department was dispatched to Cover Drive in Boardman at 8:30 a.m., after a vehicle was reported stolen.
The vehicle was later located at the Red Roof Inn in Boardman, alongside another stolen vehicle from a surrounding area.
Investigators say several individuals who were staying at the hotel are believed to be involved in the thefts.
Peyton B. Thomas, 20, of New Haven, Connecticut was arrested by the Boardman Police Department at the Red Roof Inn and is charged with misdemeanor Receiving Stolen Property.
A juvenile, also from New Haven, Connecticut, was arrested by the Poland Village Police and charged with felony Receiving Stolen Property in connection to the first stolen vehicle.
A third suspect fled from the Red Roof Inn, beginning a police chase through Youngstown, Boardman, and Poland.
According to the police report, the driver purposely struck a Boardman Police cruiser during the pursuit, injuring the officer inside and causing damage to the cruiser. The pursuit was ended due to increasing speeds and the erratic driving of the suspect.
The Boardman Police Officer who was inside the cruiser sustained an injury to his arm, and is expected to make a full recovery and return back to full duty within a few days.
That third suspect has not been arrested, but police have confirmed his identity as Montrell Holmes (25) of New Haven, Connecticut.

Holmes is charged with Receiving Stolen Property and Obstructing Official Business based upon his theft of a vehicle recovered at a Days Inn in Boardman, as well as Motor Vehicle Theft and Failure to Comply (Flee and Elude) based on his subsequent theft of the vehicle.
Investigation into the incident is continuing and future charges are still pending. Holmes is currently being sought out by the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
