Hubbard Elementary School installs book vending machine for students

HUBBARD, Ohio - Hubbard Elementary School students have a new way to get a reward for positive choices.
The school recently installed a new vending machine, only this one dispenses books instead of snacks.
It's part of the school's Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports program where students earn 'Excellent Eagle' tickets that can be redeemed at the machine.
“Students in grades K-4 love using vending machines in general. So, when we thought of a vending machine option for the school's PBIS program, we couldn’t think of a better option than one that dispenses books,” said Hubbard Elementary School principal Shawn Marcello.
The school received a grant to purchase the machine and the school librarian hand-selected titles for the students.
