Girard Intermediate School donates nonperishable food items to ECCC

GIRARD, Ohio - Last week Girard Intermediate School donated over 1,600 nonperishable food items to the Emmanuel Community Care Center.
The food donations will help ECCC distribute food to qualifying people who go there for assistance. Qualifying individuals can go to ECCC and get 3-5 days of food once a month. They help around 1,500 households a year with food assistance.
The donations from Girard Intermediate School also help ECCC with food items that are harder to get, such as cereal and soup.
The food drive was sponsored by the PTO and the student council.
ECCC also collaborates with the Beatitude House and Coleman Professional Service to provide four units of permanent supportive housing for homeless, single persons, and single persons with children who are disabled.
