Mercer County, Pa. - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has restored the speed limit on Interstate 80 in Mercer and Venango Counties as of 6:42 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26.
PennDOT temporarily reduced the speed limit on the interstate to 45 MPH due to winter weather conditions such as ice and snow.
PennDOT still advises residents to proceed with caution when driving in winter weather conditions.
While PennDOT is treating roadways, the roadways will not be completely free of ice and snow during the event of a winter storm. PennDOT will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until precipitation stops and roads are cleared.
The speed limits will be restored once roadway and weather conditions improve.
