Niles man accused of raping teen at his home

Niles Police have arrested a man accused of bringing a fifteen-year-old girl to his home, getting her drunk, then raping her.
Twenty-six-year-old Xavier Baynes of Cherry Street is being held in the Trumbull County Jail on charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, and corruption of a minor.
According to a police report, Baynes picked up the girl from her home near New Castle, Pennsylvania on November 19 and took her to his home, giving her drinks of hard seltzer as well as other alcoholic beverages that he bought at a local convenience store.
Although the teen told police she didn’t resist Bayne’s alleged advances, she told them she was intoxicated at the time.
Baynes, who was booked into the jail early Tuesday, faces arraignment in Niles Municipal Court.
