OSP has confirmed that alcohol was a factor in a crash taking place on Youngstown-Poland Rd. near Como St. around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Several agencies responded to the scene after a truck crashed into a telephone pole near Youngstown-Poland Rd. and Como St. in the Struthers-Boardman area.

OSP tells 21 News the driver was an elderly male who was leaving a bar and struck a telephone pole when attempting to make a left turn.

The pole had fallen and struck another driver's vehicle, but OSP says EMS confirmed that no injuries were reported at the scene.

The driver was charged with Failure to Control Vehicle and base OVI charges after failing a field sobriety test.
