In light of COVID-19 cases rising and a number of public employees testing positive with the virus, The Lordstown Administration Center is closing its doors to residents beginning Tuesday.

Longtime Lordstown Mayor Arno Hill said that the public will be unable to access the building through at least Friday, January 7.

"This is due to an issue with some of our employees within the building who have recently tested positive," Hill said. "We think this exposure happened at the end of last week and there are a number of employees who were not exposed."

Hill added that those employees believed to not have been exposed will continue to work in the administration center.

A private company will be allowed access to the building in order to sanitize individual rooms as a precaution on Monday afternoon.

Mayor Hill is still scheduled to give his State of Lordstown address in-person Monday evening.
