Chaotic meeting results in temporary budget for Trumbull County

WARREN, Ohio - A chaotic two-and-a-half-hour-long Trumbull County Commissioners meeting Wednesday afternoon resulted in a temporary budget for the county.
Big decisions were to be made at this meeting, such as approval of the temporary county budget. In Commissioner Maura Cantalamessa's absence, it was up to Commissioners, Frank Fuda and Niki Frenchko to make the call.
However, those decisions proved to be challenging, as the meeting was heated with arguments about showing up to work to arguments about fairness in the county.
Commissioner Fuda tells 21 News that the confusion and turmoil should not be happening and that it's giving Trumbull County a bad reputation.
"We're considered the worst county in the State of Ohio right now," Fuda said.
However, Frenchko tells 21 News that she's asking Commissioners to do things, "the right way."
"Every time they get explosive with me, it's because I'm asking them to do things that are the right way, that they've never done in that way before and that's exactly what I was elected to do," Frenchko said.
However, despite all of the turmoil, the county was able to get the temporary budget approved, which will keep the county running until March. The budget has to be approved annually.
Trumbull County Auditor, Adrian Biviano tells 21 News this was too close of a call.
"Insurance claims for 1,400 employees, our claims were coming due today, and if we had missed the claim rate, they could've revoked our insurance immediately," Biviano said.
The meeting adjourned with Frenchko getting up and walking out the door.
