A great country song once said 'life's a dance you learn as you go'.
Leesha Thompson has been dancing her way through life since she was three.

"I love inspiring people through dance," Thompson says.

Fast forward to last August when Thompson bought and built up what's now the new home of the Warren Fred Astaire dance studio.
Friday marked the first waltz with a soft opening.

"I've worked for the company for 10 years and it's always been my dream to have my own space," Thompson said.

A lot of folks may not realize how popular ballroom dancing is, but considering the diverse cross section of people who love it, it just might make you want to put on your dancing shoes.

"Anywhere from five year old kids who want to learn ballroom because they saw it on 'Dancing with the Stars'...we have a lot of couples who are retired and need something to do," says Thompson.

Dancing has become a welcome alternative as we try to sidestep COVID.

"I think it's really going to take off because...people have been missing social interaction and making new friends," Thompson said.

Her studio is on Elm Road NE in Warren next to the BMW bureau.
