With the first shot of a home game against Champion, Bristol senior leader Belle Zirzow became the schools all-time leading scorer in girls basketball.
Needing just a 3-pointer to break the record, Zirzow wasted no time, hoisting one and cashing in, writing her name into the Panthers record books. She eclipsed a record that had been in place since 2009, passing Alyssa Giesy with a record of 1,333 points.
Zirzow led all scorers with 29 points to go along with 11 rebounds. The 44-32 win takes Bristol to 12-1 on the season. They'll host Garfield on Wednesday before traveling to play unbeaten Liberty on Saturday.
The Bristol boys basketball team also won its home game against Champion by a final score of 67-64. The win is Head Coach Craig Giesy's 200th of his career.
