Strength beyond words is the best way to describe Stephanie Tubb as she recovers from tragically being struck in Sharon one January morning when she was walking to work as a manager at McDonald's.

"I can't be down," Tubb said, "Even though I lost my legs, I'm grateful to be alive."

As a result of the crash, she suffered severe injuries and both of her legs are now amputated right above the knee.

"In a matter of seconds...I'm 33... I'm still young. I have babies. My kids are still young," she said, "It was super hard for me, knowing that I will never walk again."

Despite what she has been through, she is happy to be alive.

"Grateful that, you know, my family still has me," she said, "My kids still have me and they are not planning a funeral instead they still get to have me in their life."

Tubb said she is looking towards the future, staying positive and has plans to inspire people going through a similar situation.

She's now in a rehabilitation center going through physical therapy and doctors tell her she is doing very well.

She said it's her three kids and husband who keep her going and is looking towards a bright future.

"It's so overwhelming for me and emotional for me," she said, "I miss my kids, I miss my home, but I have to do what I have to do. Every day I'm just pushing and getting stronger and strong."

She wanted to express how much she loves her McDonald's family and the entire community for what they've done for her.

Stephanie and her family will get 20% of all sales at McDonald's locations owned by the Locke family, as well as all Mahoning County McDonald's locations.  The fundraiser is on February 3rd from 4-8 pm. You can find a list of the locations owned by the Locke family here.
