Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica to host Mardi Gras event
A special guest will be making an appearance at the event in the form of the Consul of Italy in Detroit, Paola Allegra Baistrocchi.

Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica along with Monsignor Michael J. Carigilo Jr. will be hosting its annual Carnevale de Venezia (Italian Mardi Gras) on Friday, Feb. 25 starting at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Social Hall at 6:00 p.m.
A special guest will be making an appearance at the event in the form of the Consul of Italy in Detroit, Paola Allegra Baistrocchi.
Baistrocchi has taken up her duties as Consul of Italy in Detroit in September of 2021 with jurisdiction over Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and Ohio.
The event promotes the support and study of Italian language and culture throughout the Mahoning Valley. Attractions include a strolling accordionist, a stilt walker and the John Reese Trio.
Guests can also enjoy various Italian foods and drinks.
