WARREN, Ohio - The McGuffey Elementary robotics team in Warren will be advancing to the Global Innovation Robotics Competition after competing in the State Finals on Sunday.
The team won an award for their project called the Pet I-Spy, in which a camera is placed in the cargo area of a plane, so passengers can monitor their pets during their flight via an app.
The next step for the team is to write a submission letter, and if they make it to the finals, they will present their project to St. Louis in June.
The team worked with Apple's Design Academy, along with employees of the United Airlines Pet Safe program to build a prototype for the app.
