Bodycam video released by the Youngstown Police Department shows moments of a pursuit leading to a fatal crash on the city’s South Side on Tuesday.

Officers who happened to be nearby, gave chase when they learned that an SUV was seen speeding away from shots being fired at the South Avenue Gas Mart.

On the video, the officers can be reacting when the SUV crashed along Gibson Street.

Despite obvious traumatic injuries, a female crash victim was standing outside of the wrecked car and was ordered by police to get on the ground.

Seeing the extent of injuries of a female victim, one officer immediately said he was going to apply a tourniquet to control her bleeding.

As the accident victim can be heard pleading for help in saving her life, one officer puts on surgical gloves and places the tourniquet on the victim.

One officer calls out wondering where the driver was only to find that he died in the crash.

As of Wednesday afternoon, neither police nor the coroner had released the names of the victims.

Police expected the woman, who remains hospitalized, to survive.
