Driver identified in fatal Gibson Street crash

Youngstown Police have identified the driver in a fatal crash that resulted from a police chase Tuesday night.
The driver has been identified as 33-year-old William E. Dorsey. Police say Dorsey's family has been notified of the death via the Mahoning County Coroner's Office.
Dorsey was involved in a shooting incident at a gas station on South Avenue on Tuesday night. Police saw his vehicle leaving the gas station just after gunfire was heard and engaged in a chase.
The chase led police to Gibson Street when the vehicle flipped ejecting at least one person from the vehicle. A gun was found in the wreckage, which police believe to be the same gun used in the shooting.
Police say that Dorsey is the sole shooter and that no other shooting suspects are being pursued at this time.
A 30-year-old woman, who was also present in the vehicle survived the crash and is currently hospitalized. Police say that any criminal charges against this woman are being followed up on and considered.
