Nearly one year after deadly Youngstown crash charges are now filed

YOUNGSTOWN - Almost a year after a fatal car accident, that happened the same night as a deadly shooting at Youngstown bar, charges have been filed but questions still remain.
According to court records, 24 year-old Tyrone Chatman has been charged for his role in a deadly car crash that took place just after 2 a.m. on May 23rd, 2021. The crash took place just down the road from a shooting at the Torch Bar where five people were shot outside the bar and two of them died.
According to a police report, Chatman was driving west on Salt Springs Road when his vehicle went left of center and struck another vehicle head-on.
Chatman has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of an accident, operating a vehicle while under the influence of marijuana, and driving under suspension.
At the time, detectives were trying to determine of the vehicles involved were leaving the scene of the shooting.
So far, police have not yet made any arrest in the shooting at the Torch Bar. Youngstown's Law Director says detectives are still waiting on forensics.
