BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - On the day that U.S. Senate hopeful J.D. Vance plans to campaign in the Valley, new polling data shows him leading the field of fellow Republican candidates in Ohio.

A Fox News poll of more than 900 registered voters give Vance a five-point lead over Josh Mandel in the race for the GOP nod for the Senate seat now held by Rob Portman.

Twenty-three percent of those polled support the author of the best-selling book Hillbilly Elegy. Mandal has 18%, Mike Gibbons comes in with 13%, Dolan has 11%, with Jane Timken registering 6%.

Twenty-five percent told pollsters that they are still undecided.

The poll data was collected from April 13 to April 24, after former President Donald Trump announced that he endorses Vance’s candidacy.

With Ohio's Primary Election one week away, Vance is scheduled to hold a Town Hall from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Mahoning County Republican Headquarters, 8381 Market Street, Boardman.

Also scheduled to appear is former Fox News host and Trump campaign adviser Steve Cortes.
