Salem man accused of inappropriately touching EMT in New Castle

NEW CASTLE, Pa. - A Salem man has been accused of inappropriately touching an EMT worker in New Castle.
According to an affidavit, a Union Township police report dated March 14 sates that an EMT for McGonigle's Ambulance Service reported that a patient identified as Paul McHugh of Salem inappropriately touched her during transport.
The female victim told police that McHugh touched the inside of her leg multiple times with his hand. After continuously moving McHugh's hand away and eventually asking him to stop, he allegedly responded by laughing.
The victim tells police McHugh continued touching the inside of her leg, with his hand going further up her inner thigh each time before eventually reaching her genitalia through her clothing.
Police later spoke with the victim's partner who was driving the ambulance at the time of the incident. He says he did witness McHugh touch the victim's legs but did not witness him touch her genitalia. He states that he did hear the victim scream loudly at McHugh to stop touching her.
McHugh is charged with Indecent Assault, Simple Assault and Harassment.
A preliminary hearing on this case is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22 at 9:30 a.m.
