Ohio Power Siting Board to consider approval of FirstEnergy power line project
In early March 2022, Youngstown residents and officials rallied against this plan.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Ohio Power Siting Board is will be considering the approval of FirstEnergy's plans to put powerlines in Downtown Youngstown near the amphitheatre next week.
A meeting will be held on Thursday, May 19 to discuss the potential approval of the Lincoln Park Riverbend 138 kV Transmission Line Project.
The project was originally proposed in December of 2020 in a PowerPoint presentation video uploaded to YouTube showcasing the project and its proposed routes.
In early March 2022, Youngstown residents and officials rallied against this plan with some officials such as Youngstown Law Director, Jeff Limbian stating that it would "set back the progress of our downtown community."
