BAZETTA TWP., Ohio - A man is behind bars at the Trumbull County Jail after allegedly assaulting a woman at Walmart in Bazetta Township.

According to the report, the assault happened around 7:15 a.m. at the Walmart on Millennium Boulevard Tuesday.

Police arrived on scene and found a female employee being checked by medics. She was on the ground when they arrived and was bleeding heavily from the head.

EMTs took the victim to the hospital with lights and sirens due to the severity of her injuries.

Reports say another victim was found on scene, who identified the woman's attacker as 27-year-old Omar Williams.

According to the police report, the victim said Williams was her boyfriend and that they had been fighting since about 5:30 a.m.

Police say the victim reported Williams slapping and choking her before she went into Walmart to find someone to call the police.

The store employee attempted to help the victim to a secure location but saw Williams coming toward them. Reports say the two victims ran from Williams before he was able to catch up.

According to the report, Williams shoved the employee into a metal rack, causing her severe head injuries. Williams then left in his girlfriend's car before Warren Township Police were able to catch up and arrest him.

Williams was booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of felonious assault, motor vehicle theft, domestic violence and disrupting public service.
