Authorities ID man found shot to death in Youngstown apartment

The body of 42-year-old Eric Gibbs was found in an apartment.

YOUNGSTOWN - The Mahoning County Coroner has released the name of a man found fatally shot on Youngstown's South Side.

Officers were called late Sunday to an apartment on the 2400 block of Shirley Road where the body of 42-year-old Eric Gibbs was discovered.

The coroner says an autopsy will be conducted before further information is released.

A news release from the police department lists no suspects in the case. Detectives are treating the case as a homicide.
