A Boardman woman remains in the county jail on a domestic violence charge for allegedly shoving her 63-year-old mother onto the bathroom floor and punching her in the head.

Amber Jones, 36, was arrested Wednesday morning at her parent’s Island Drive home.

According to police, a verbal argument between the mother and daughter became violent when Jones allegedly pushed her mom to the floor and struck her in the head several times.

Jones had already left the home when the police arrived. However, Jones was arrested when she returned.

According to court records, Jones has a previous domestic violence conviction in 2019.

The husband of the alleged victim told police that a protective order had recently been issued against Jones. However, the court had not yet served the paperwork on Jones at the time of the alleged attack.

Jones did not enter a plea during her arraignment. Her bond was set at $10,000.

Another hearing is scheduled for June 14.
