NEWTON FALLS, Ohio - Students and educators can gather new books for their home libraries or classrooms at The Reading Opens the World Summer Reading Expo at Newton Falls Middle School where 15,000 books are free to take on June 4.

Parents and guardians are welcome to take up to 10 books per child for their home libraries, and educators and school staff can take up to 40 books for classrooms or programs.

Educators must enroll on First Book for free registration before receiving books from the giveaway.

The books span from pre-k to high school reading levels and are offered on a first-come first-serve basis.

Reading Opens the World was launched by the American Federation of Teachers which focuses on providing teachers with necessary resources to help students read and read well.

The Newton Falls' summer expo is hosted by the Ohio Federation of Teachers which is affiliated with the Mahoning Valley teachers unions.

The event is June 4 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Newton Falls Middle School which is located at 907 Milton Blvd.
