COVID cases in Valley drop slightly, Mahoning Co. back to medium transmission risk
COVID-19 cases in the Mahoning Valley dropped slightly this week compared to the week prior.
Mahoning County recorded 690 cases (301.7 cases per 100k people), down from the last recorded increase of 838. This week's data showed 508 new cases in Trumbull County (256.6 cases per 100k) after recording 545 the week before.
Columbiana County had the lowest new case total with 209 (205.1 cases per 100k). They reported an increase of 244 last week.
According to the CDC COVID-19 County Check, which is used to monitor community transmission levels, Columbiana County remains at a low level. Trumbull County's community level is still listed as medium.
Mahoning County's level dropped from high to medium since last week's report.
Only two Ohio counties, Gallia and Lawrence County, are listed as high level.
Pennsylvania's Lawrence County remains at a low level while Mercer is still at medium.
