Hermitage Police warn of Amazon internet, phone scam
Hermitage Police Department is warning residents of a scam that is going around the internet from a scammer claiming to be from Amazon.
According to a post on Hermitage PD's Facebook, scammers will claim to be from Amazon and "phish" for your account info, credit card info and other sensitive information.
After this, the scammer will claim that a Hermitage police officer will soon be in touch with them over the phone. Soon after, the victim will get a call from a number spoofing the real Hermitage Police Department's number and a scammer impersonating a Hermitage officer.
Hermitage Police are warning residents to be on the lookout for this scam and any other similar ones and remind residents to never give any personal information to anyone calling unsolicited claiming to be from a business or organization.
