Hot rod tour to visit Valley July 10, 11

A national hot rod tour will be visiting Youngstown on Sunday, July 10 and Monday, July 11 on its way to the Syracuse Nationals in New York.
The Classic Road Tours excursion is coordinated by long-time Street Rodder Magazine Tour Director, Jerry Dixey of Austintown. Dixey has been doing these tours for 25 years.
"I used to do eight different week long tours for summers for 25 years. It would be different events we would attend for coverage for Street Rodder magazine and people would travel along with us,"
The magazine is defunct as of 2019, but due to the popularity of these tours, Dixey and his wife continue to do two tours each year.
Thirty vehicles from all over the country are traveling from states around the country to participate in the tour. The cars will be on display Sunday evening at the Quaker Steak & Lube in Austintown from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The following day, the cars will move over to Columbiana at the Town Center at Firestone Farms from noon until 1:30 p.m. At this event there will be a Smoke Worx food truck available for lunch.
The visit to Youngstown is sponsored by the Mark Cole Agency, an American National agency specializing in collector car insurance.
