Friday hearing for Youngstown man accused of firing gun in his home
A Friday afternoon hearing is scheduled in Youngstown Municipal Court for a man arrested after allegedly firing shots inside his South Side home early Wednesday.
Vernon Johnson Jr. is charged with improperly discharging a firearm, having weapons under a disability, and drug possession.
A woman inside a home on East Philadelphia Ave. near Zedaker Street called police shortly before 5 a.m. to report that she and two children were hiding from a man who was in the home.
Officers arrested Johnson Jr. about 15 minutes later.
Two ambulances were called to the home. However, police say no one was injured.
Johnson, who was already wanted for failing to appear in court on previous drug and other charges, was booked into the county jail on charges of improperly discharging a weapon.
