Warren City Schools breaks ground on new student recreation and wellness center
A new student recreation and wellness center at Warren G. Harding High school is starting to take shape.
The ground has officially broken on the project that's expected to be a 120,000-square-foot, two-story facility built between the high school and Mollenkopf Stadium.
It's not just for athletics, it will have educational and healthcare purposes as well and expand other extracurriculars for students.
"WE'RE ALSO GOING TO HAVE A DEDICATED ROBOTICS SPACE AS AN ADDITION AND WE'RE GOING TO BE PILOTING OUR E-SPORTS TEAM THIS YEAR, WARREN CITY SCHOOLS SUPERINTENDENT STEVE CHIARO SAID. "THEY'LL BE MOVING INTO THE FACILITY IN THEIR DEDICATED SPACE."
The plan is to have students start using the facility in the fall of 2023 before the rest is completed.
