After showing out in their own backyard at the 'Field of Dreams' recently, the Boardman 12U Little League Softball team is your state champion in 2022 after defeating Clay Township 14-2.

 

This is the first time a Boardman Little League Softball team has won a state title since 1976. In the first, Boardman scored 4 runs, highlighted by a RBI double by Addie Volosin. 

In the fifth, Boardman exploded for 10 runs as the game was called due to the run rule as the Spartans captured state. Starting pitcher Emma Davies pitched a complete game, with 5 strikeouts, and gave up 3 hits with no walks.

Boardman advances to the central region round in Whitestown, Indiana July 25-29.
