With lethal injection on hold, prosecutor suggests firing squad, electric chair for Danny Lee Hill

Just one day after the Federal Public Defender's Office filed a motion to delay the execution for Danny Lee Hill, Trumbull County Prosecutor, Dennis Watkins has filed a motion to set the date for Hill's execution.
Hill was sentenced to death in 37 years ago after he murdered 12-year-old Raymond Fife.
Prosecutor Watkins says since the date Hill was sentenced to death, just two convicted killers who have currently scheduled execution dates committed their offenses before Hill and adds that the last execution conducted in the state of Ohio was all the way back in July of 2018.
Watkins also addressed the claims that the reason for the halt and numerous delays in executions was due to the unavailability of the drugs used for lethal injections suggesting that the state consider other methods such as a firing squad or electrocution, as well as newer methods like nitrogen hypoxia.
"Establishing an entity, whether it be a board, commission or master commissioner to examine why court-ordered executions have not been undertaken for more than four years and/or to recommend procedures to ensure they proceed is not only appropriate, but necessary to examine an issue or topic involving the law, courts, the legal profession, the judicial system or the administration of justice," Watkins said.
Watkins adds that Fife's mother is 82 years old and that she would like to see justice served during her lifetime stating "justice delayed is justice denied."
