COLUMBUS, Ohio - Tuesday, August 9, 2022, has been declared as honorary Dolly Parton Day in Ohio.

Governor Mike DeWine issued a proclamation honoring the country music legend who will be visiting Columbus that day to celebrate early literacy and the success of Parton's Imagination Library.

Ohio First Lady Fran DeWine will host a luncheon honoring Parton at the Archie Griffin Ballroom in Columbus at noon.

The Imagination Library of Ohio currently mails more than 327,000 Ohio children a free, age-appropriate book every month.

The program is open to children up to the age of five in all of Ohio's 88 counties.

All children in Ohio are eligible to be enrolled in the program at no cost to their families.
