A Poland man has pleaded not guilty to four charges after police say his unleased dogs allegedly bit joggers in the Poland Municipal Forrest.

Village Police received the first report from a man who reported that he was bitten by two dogs running along the forest trails on August 8.

The victim says the owner apologized but didn’t identify himself.

Since the jogger wasn’t sure about the dogs’ vaccination status, he began a series of rabies shots.

It wasn’t until a few days later when a 36-year-old woman jogging in the forest reported to police that she was bitten on the arm by an unleased dog with a similar description of one of the dogs from the previous incident.

The woman told police she spoke with neighbors who told her the dogs were from a house in Indian Trail.

Police say they spoke with a relative of the owner of the dogs who told officers that the animals were up to date on their shots.

Police issued an arrest warrant last week for Patrick Paris Jr. who was booked into the county jail over the weekend and pleaded not guilty on Monday to four misdemeanors having to do with dangerous dogs and failing to keep the dogs on a leash.

Paris, who is free on bond, is scheduled appear in Struthers Municipal Court for another hearing in October.
