Oktoberfest to return for seventh year in downtown Warren
Oktoberfest on the Square is coming back to Courthouse Square in Downtown Warren for its seventh year on Saturday, September 24.
The festivities will take place in Courthouse Square from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday. 22 local businesses, six local restaurants and six Ohio breweries will be joining together for the event.
Participating breweries include Modern Methods, Paladin, Noble Creature, Aeonian, Birdfish and Unhitched.
Trumbull County Historical Society Director, Meghan Reed says the event is continuing to grow this year with more food options and family friendly activities than ever before, as well as a snack tent.
"Pony rides will be available from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and food options include brats, sauerkraut, spaetzel, German potato salad, pretzels and much more," Reed said.
In addition to the pony rides, activities for children will include gingerbread cookie decorating, face painting and the junior grape stomping game early in the evening.
Activities for adults will include the annual grape stomping competition, the tapping of the keg, ax throwing, 50/50 raffles and live music by the Youngstown Saxton Brass Band.
Oktoberfest on the Square began in 2016 as a means of supporting the Historical Society and to preserve Warren and Trumbull County History.
"We hope to showcase the diverse cultures in our region. Oktoberfest is meant to celebrate the German heritage of Trumbull County while providing a fun event on Courthouse Square for all ages," Reed said.
Presale tickets for the event are available for $25 until Friday, September 23 and include a German-inspired meal and two drink tickets. A discounted $15 ticket is available for those aged 12-20. Children under 12 get in for free. Adult tickets purchased at the door will cost $30.
