A police chase that lasted nearly a half hour with speeds up to 100 miles per hour traveled through two counties and ended on Youngstown's East Side on Tuesday.

Police began pursuing a car for a license plate violation from Route 62 and the state line in Brookfield Township at around 10:10 a.m.

Joined by other police agencies, the chase went from Route 62 through Hubbard before heading south into Youngstown's East Side.

The pursuit ended just after 10:30 a.m. when the car went off Jacobs Road, a few blocks north of McKelvey Lake.

Police had guns drawn on one suspect and called an ambulance after using a taser on 26 year-old David Dewitt.

This was the second police chase Dewitt had led Brookfield Police on in the past two weeks, according to Brookfield Police Chief Dan Faustino.

Dewitt has warrants from other counties, and was driving with fictitious plates.

A woman who was in the car wasn't charged.
