Southington man secretly indicted for alleged sex crimes against children

A Southington man is in the Trumbull County Jail awaiting a court appearance to answer charges that include allegations that he solicited sex from a child.
Christopher Callaway, 37, of Route 422, was arrested Tuesday on a secret eight-count indictment handed up by the Trumbull County Grand Jury.
Callaway is charged with pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, and two counts of importuning.
Ohio law defines importuning as soliciting someone for sex acts.
According to the indictment, the alleged was between 13 and 15 years old in 2021, when the alleged crimes occurred.
Callaway is also accused of sending a minor images of himself engaged in a sex act.
Callaway pled not guilty to his charges and his bond has been set at $250,000.
Geauga County Court records show Callaway was sentenced to six months in jail after being convicted in 2016 of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material and disseminating matter harmful to a juvenile.
