WARREN, Ohio - A trial date has been set for January of 2023 for Trumbull County Deputy Dog Warden, Charles Parks.

Parks is accused of leaving dogs without food water or medication for up to two days. Court records show he is charged with two counts of Depriving animals of food and water and two counts of animal cruelty.

Back in late August, Parks was accused of failing to provide necessary care to the dogs housed at the kennel on at least two dates where he was the sole employee tasked with providing this care.

Upon reviewing surveillance video and conducting interviews with witnesses and Parks himself, Humane Agents with the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County determined these violations did occur.

Parks entered a not guilty plea in August.

Parks' next pretrial hearing will take place on January 18 and his trial by jury will begin on January 23 at 8:45 a.m. in the Warren Municipal Court.
